If you're migrating an existing deal pipeline from another platform, Atlas makes the process smooth and straightforward. You can get started by importing your data directly from a file.
To begin, navigate to the Pipelines tab, click the + New Pipeline button, and select Import an existing pipeline.

You'll be prompted to name your new pipeline before proceeding with the import.

Step-by-Step Guide to Importing Your File
To ensure a seamless migration, we provide a file template for you to use. For best results, download the sample file and copy your data into the appropriate columns. You can also add extra columns to accommodate all your data. The Covalent platform is designed to handle all your information, so no data is lost during the process.
Default template fields include:
Company name
One-liner
Company description
Company website
Industry
Country
Region
Amount to raise
Valuation
Investment round
CEO Name
CEO Email
CEO LinkedIn

Before you upload, it's essential to clean and prepare your data to match the Covalent platform's standardized taxonomies. This ensures accuracy and consistency.
Covalent Taxonomies To keep your data clean and interoperable across the platform, we standardize on a set of taxonomies. Below is how each taxonomy is presented and how you should use them when filling templates or uploading data.
Countries: Covalent supports all ISO-3166 countries (200+).
Regions: These are higher-level groupings of countries. These are the regions: Asia, Europe, Africa, Oceania, Americas, Antarctic.
Investment rounds: Pre-seed, Seed, Series A, Series B, Series C, Series D, Series E, Series F, Series G, Series H, Series I, Series J, Series K, Series L.
Industry: We currently support ~58 industries.
Date Format: DD/MM/YYYY
We advise you to take some time to do this cleanup to maximize the Atlas platform and reduce errors you might face while importing your data. A simple way to do this is to make a copy our complete list and correct your data to match our naming conventions. You do this by clicking on the link below and then File and then "Make a copy" on Google sheet.

Once your file is uploaded, Covalent will validate your data. This process may take a few minutes for larger files, so please remain on the page until it's complete.
After validation, you'll need to map your imported columns to the corresponding fields in our database.
Map Fields: Review and confirm each field mapping to ensure your data is correctly aligned.

Additional Information: Scroll down to the Additional Information section to confirm the correct field types (e.g., Date, URL, Multiple Choice).
While our AI automates much of this process, we strongly advise you to manually review every field to ensure accuracy.
Once your review is complete, click Confirm to preview.

You'll now see a table containing all your imported data. Review it carefully to ensure everything looks correct. If you're satisfied, click Save to pipeline to finish the import process.

After you save your imported pipeline, a corresponding form is automatically created for it. It's important to go to this new form to set it up and review/update it as needed.

Review Your Form Fields: Pay special attention to Multi-select and Single select fields to ensure all the options are correct and complete.
Customize the After-Submission Page: Update the thank you message and set up any redirect URLs if needed.
Create Sourcing Links: Finally, create unique identifier links for your form. This is crucial as it ensures that new form responses can flow directly into your newly created pipeline.
For more details on these steps, check out our Create a Deal Sourcing Form article.
After completing these steps, you would have successfully imported your pipeline and created a form to start receiving deals. Well done! 🎉.
